3. How We Use Your Content
Your Content is processed primarily so that Writezy can provide the features you choose to use.

Display it within the editor or canvas;
Organize it into projects, documents, folders, or other structures;

To investigate suspected abuse or a security incident;
To maintain or restore the Service;
To comply with applicable law; or

Where practical, access is limited to personnel and contractors who need it for those purposes.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing, we may rely on the following bases:
Performance of a Contract
We process information when necessary to provide Writezy under our Terms of Service, including creating your account, storing Your Content, and processing your subscription.
Legitimate Interests
We may process information for legitimate business interests such as:
Securing Writezy;
Preventing fraud and abuse;
Maintaining and improving performance;
Understanding how features are used;
Providing support; and
Protecting our legal rights.
We consider whether those interests are outweighed by your rights and interests.
Consent
We may rely on your consent for activities such as optional cookies, certain communications, or other processing where consent is required.
You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before your consent was withdrawn.
Legal Obligations
We may process information to comply with tax, accounting, regulatory, law-enforcement, or other legal obligations.
European privacy notices generally need to explain who is collecting information, the purposes and legal grounds for processing, recipients, retention, international transfers, and individual rights.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may share information in the following circumstances.
Service Providers
We use third-party companies to help operate Writezy. These providers may process information on our behalf for purposes such as:
Website and application hosting;
Cloud storage;
Database services;
Authentication;
Payment processing;
Transactional email;
Customer support;
Error monitoring;
Security;
Analytics; and
Infrastructure maintenance.
These providers are permitted to process information only as necessary to perform services for us, subject to their agreements with Writezy and applicable law.
Writezy’s current service providers may include:
[AUTHENTICATION PROVIDER] for account authentication;
[HOSTING PROVIDER] for website and application hosting;
[CLOUD OR DATABASE PROVIDER] for database and file storage;
[PAYMENT PROVIDER] for subscription payments;
[EMAIL PROVIDER] for transactional emails;
[ANALYTICS PROVIDER, IF ANY] for service analytics; and
[ERROR-MONITORING PROVIDER, IF ANY] for crash and performance monitoring.
You should replace this section with your actual providers before publishing.
Legal and Safety Reasons
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to:
Comply with a law, subpoena, court order, or valid legal request;
Protect the rights, property, or safety of Writezy, our users, or others;
Investigate fraud, abuse, or security threats;
Enforce our Terms of Service; or
Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We may challenge requests that we believe are unlawful, overly broad, or otherwise improper.
Business Transfers
If Writezy is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Any successor will remain subject to this Privacy Policy unless users are notified otherwise as required by law.
With Your Direction or Consent
We may share information when you ask us to do so or give us permission.
For example, future collaboration or publishing features may allow you to share particular documents or projects with another person. We will not treat content as shared merely because it is stored in your private account.
Aggregated or De-identified Information
We may use or share information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be associated with you.
For example, we may examine overall usage statistics to understand which Writezy features are commonly used.
We will not attempt to re-identify information that has been properly de-identified, except where needed to test our de-identification processes or where allowed by law.
6. Analytics
We may use limited analytics to understand how the Service performs and how users interact with its features.
Analytics information may include:
Page views;
Feature usage;
Session duration;
Device and browser type;
Approximate region;
Referring pages;
Error events; and
General interaction patterns.
We do not intentionally include the contents of your documents or other creative work in analytics events.
Where required by law, we will request your consent before using nonessential analytics technologies.
If Writezy does not use analytics, this section may be removed.
7. Communications
We may send you service-related communications, including:
Email-verification messages;
Password-reset messages;
Login or security alerts;
Subscription receipts;
Billing notices;
Changes to the Service;
Changes to our legal terms; and
Responses to support requests.
These communications are necessary to operate your account and generally cannot be disabled while your account remains active.
We may separately send promotional or product-update emails where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe using the link in those messages.
Even after unsubscribing from promotional emails, you may continue to receive essential account or service communications.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Retention periods depend on factors such as:
Whether your account remains active;
The type of information involved;
The reason we collected it;
Whether it is needed to provide the Service;
Security and fraud-prevention needs;
Legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations; and
The need to establish or defend legal claims.
Account information and Your Content are generally retained while your account is active.
When you delete content, close your account, or request deletion, the information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, archives, or fraud-prevention systems before being deleted or overwritten.
We may retain limited information after account deletion when required by law or reasonably necessary for:
Financial and tax records;
Fraud prevention;
Security;
Resolving disputes;
Enforcing agreements; or
Protecting legal rights.
Recommended production wording once your systems are finalized:
Active account content: retained while the account remains open;
Deleted content: removed from active systems within [NUMBER] days;
Backup copies: deleted or overwritten within [NUMBER] days;
Billing records: retained for [NUMBER] years or as legally required;
Security logs: retained for [NUMBER] days or months.
Do not publish specific time periods until you know your infrastructure actually follows them. Legal copy has a nasty habit of turning aspirational engineering into contractual evidence.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.
These safeguards may include:
Encryption during transmission;
Access controls;
Authentication measures;
Secure cloud infrastructure;
Logging and monitoring;
Restricted internal access;
Backups;
Security updates; and
Incident-response procedures.
No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for using a secure password. Please contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
10. International Data Transfers
Writezy is operated from the United States.
If you access Writezy from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from the laws where you live.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as:
Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission;
Adequacy decisions;
Contractual protections;
Vendor data-processing agreements; or
Other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
The European Commission recognizes mechanisms including adequacy decisions and Standard Contractual Clauses for certain transfers of personal information outside the European Economic Area.
11. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Request access to personal information we hold about you;
Request correction of inaccurate information;
Request deletion of your information;
Receive a portable copy of certain information;
Object to or restrict certain processing;
Withdraw consent;
Opt out of certain sales or sharing;
Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information;
Appeal our response to a privacy request; and
File a complaint with a data-protection authority.
European privacy laws may provide rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Verification helps prevent someone else from accessing or deleting your information without permission.
You may also authorize another person to submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law. We may require proof of that authorization.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Some rights are subject to exceptions. For example, we may need to retain certain information to complete a transaction, comply with law, protect security, or exercise legal rights.
12. California Privacy Rights
California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.
Depending on whether Writezy is legally subject to the CCPA, these rights may include the right to:
Know what categories of personal information are collected;
Know the sources and purposes of collection;
Know the categories of recipients;
Request access to specific pieces of personal information;
Request deletion;
Request correction;
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information;
Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and
Receive equal service and pricing after exercising privacy rights.
The CCPA requires covered businesses to provide notices explaining their privacy practices and to respond to eligible consumer requests.

We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party service you use.
15. Do Not Track
Some browsers allow users to transmit a “Do Not Track” signal.
There is not currently a universally accepted standard for responding to these signals. Writezy may therefore not respond to traditional Do Not Track browser settings.
Where legally required, we will honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, for processing to which those signals apply.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:
Changes to Writezy;
New features or service providers;
Changes in our information practices;
Security developments;
Legal or regulatory requirements; or
Organizational changes.
When we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service, by email, or through another appropriate method.
